A PRACTICAL TICKET GUIDE

How to scan your lottery ticket clearly

Use automatic text scanning or a full ticket photo, then confirm the printed number before checking a result.

Show the printed details

The automatic scanner reads text in the camera image. Hold the ticket so its series, six-digit number and draw code are visible. You do not need to fill the camera view with the QR code. A close-up of only the QR can hide the printed information that the text reader needs.

Hold steady and give the camera room to focus

Place the ticket on a plain surface with even lighting. Hold the camera parallel to the paper where possible. Start far enough away to fit the important details, then move closer if the printing is too small. Pause after moving the phone. The scanner automatically attempts a reading when the image stays steady; it retries if it does not find a readable ticket number.

Reduce glare, shadows and coverings

Bright reflections can remove parts of digits, while shadows can merge characters with the background. Try changing the angle of the light or moving to a brighter place without direct glare. Remove loose notes or fingers covering the ticket details. Keep the paper flat so the series and number sit on a reasonably straight line.

Upload a photo when that is easier

You can upload a clear ticket photo instead of using the live camera. Include the whole ticket first. If the number is difficult to read, rotate the preview or drag around the printed series and number and choose Read selected area. Cropping is a reading aid; it does not change the original paper ticket.

Why an encoded QR is different

Some ticket QR codes contain an encoded identifier rather than a readable series and number. Reading that code is not the same as knowing what ticket it represents. Our text scanner uses the printed details in the photo instead, so it does not need to guess a ticket number from the identifier.

Confirm before continuing

The detected details appear in editable fields. Compare every digit and the series against the paper ticket. Correct any mistake before using the details, and verify the selected draw. If a photo remains difficult to read, enter the printed number manually. A failed scan does not say anything about whether the ticket has a prize.
